2 YEARS IN A ROW!
2010 & 2011
In the mid to late 1980's , The Pataskala Lions Club decided to open a haunted attraction to help raise money for the
local youth sport program.

They decided to open the "Pataskala Lions Haunted Forest" on Refugee Rd in Pataskala, Ohio... Near the same location as the
Southwest Licking Youth Football and Baseball teams now play their games.

Upon entering the wooded area that now houses the Pataskala Haunted Forest to begin the thought process on how the haunted
attraction would be layed out and work... They stumbled upon the remains of a burned down building that resembled a small house.

About 30 feet from this burned down building they found a grave marker in the ground with the name
"Murdock" crudely engraved on it.

After doing research about this area finding no information on the history of this land of a family named "Murdock" and no real
historical value was found about the burned down building, they began removing the rubble of the building to begin the lay out
process of the Pataskala Lions Haunted Forest.

During the removal process, they uncovered a small metal locked box and decided to see what secrets it may be keeping... Once
opened, They found a blood stained medallion with the letters J.M. on it.  They decided to hold on to this medallion as they now had
proof that this land was once inhabited by "someone" or a group of people.  The medallion was placed back into the metal box and
placed inside of one of the workers cars.  At the end of the day, everyone went out to their cars and they noticed that the car the
metal box was placed in had been broken into and ransacked but the only thing missing was the metal box.  A police report was
made but nothing ever came of it.

The next day, as the team was working on the layout of the haunted attraction, they began hearing rustling of fallen leaves on the
ground off in the distance but figured they were hearing deer walking throughout the woods.  They continued to work ignoring the
sounds they heard.  As they were constructing the first building for the haunted attraction strange things began happening...
(nails coming out of the wood after just being driven into the boards, light bulbs blowing for no reason, hearing voices off in the
distance, feelings of being watched and no one being there, feelings of being touched or grabbed when no one else was around,
seeing shadows move inside of the buildings while no one being in that area.)

This continued for the next few years as they worked hard to complete the layout of the haunted attraction... but the "strange things"
that were happening were getting more and more intense as time went on... It was then that one of the workers had finally had
enough of the "interruptions" and called upon a friend of his that was a Psychic Medium to come out the wooded area and see if he
could give any kind information as to why these things were happening.

After walking the woods for a couple of hours, the Psychic Medium called for the workers and they workers went to him.  The
Psychic Medium asked... "Was there anything in this area prior to the work beginning on the haunted attraction?"  It was then that
the workers explained about finding a burnt down building... Before they could finish the story, the Psychic Medium began to speak,
saying...

"This was a family home... A family of murderous... Crazy.... People.  A home where normal rules never applied.  There was a battle
here... A battle of good and evil.  Someone of great importance died here.  A lawman.  Murdered in cold blood... but he was not the
only one to die here at the hands of evil.  Unspeakable acts were committed here.  There are bodies buried all over these woods.
Something was removed from here that was very important to this family... It must be returned in order to stop everything that is
going on ."

The workers began to explain about that the only thing that was removed from the land was the now missing metal box containing
the medallion.

After the Pataskala Lions Haunted Forest was completely built, The actors decided the best way to tell a scary story, is to make sure
it was as true of a story as possible.  The Pataskala Haunted Forest is a story of "The Murdock Family" and how the head of the
family... Jebidiah Murdock had instructed his family to kill and mutilate anyone that trespasses on their land.

To this day, strange things continue to happen in this wooded area that is now the home of the Pataskala Haunted Forest...
(Electric going out for no reason in one area but not others, Shadows walking down the tunnels of the buildings, voices being heard
when no one else is around, things coming up missing for no reason. Etc.)

The "Murdock" Family grave marker still remains in the forest where it was originally placed, only a handful of trusted forest
employees know its exact location as no one wants it to be disturbed as they don't want any more strange things happening
on the Old Murdock Land.
